Fed. R. Bankr. P. 7054(b) authorizes the Court to allow costs to the prevailing party in an adversary proceeding.
It provides that the Bill of Costs be presented to the Clerk on notice to the other parties . Complete Official Form B2630 (Bill of Costs)
The Clerk will NOT tax costs unless the judgment signed by the Court specifically awards costs to the prevailing party.
LOCAL RULE 7054-1 TAXATION OF COSTS
A. Time for Filing Bill of Costs
Within thirty days of the entry of a judgment allowing costs, the prevailing party shall file a Bill of Costs with the Clerk and serve a copy of the bill on each adverse party. If the Bill of Costs is not filed within the thirty days, costs under 28 U.S.C. ยง 1920 other than those of the Clerk, will be deemed waived. The Court may, on motion filed within the time provided for the filing of the Bill of Costs, extend the time for filing the bill.
Overview of the Process
Bill of Costs, with supporting documentation, is filed in CM/ECF, using the event Proposed Bill of Costs.
The filing party is required to serve a copy of the Bill of Costs on the judgment party and file a Certificate of Service.
The other party has 14 days to file an objection to the Bill of Costs.
After the time for filing an objection has expired, the Clerk will review the Bill of Costs and any objection, and appropriate costs will be taxed.
An Approved Bill of Costs will be entered on the docket
Step by Step Procedures:
1. Select [Adversary or Bankruptcy > Other]
2. Enter case number and click Next
3. The verification screen will display. Verify you are docketing on correct case.
/If yes
4. Select Proposed Bill of Costs from pick list and click Next
5. Select the attorney representing party or Select/Create Attorney and click Next
6. Select party from party pick or Add/Create new party and click Next
BK Rule 7054(b) provides that a Bill of Costs be presented to the Clerk on notice to the other parties.

7. Browse, View, Attach, and click Next
8. Select Judgment Order and click Next
9. The Final Text Editing screen will display. Verify the accuracy of the docket text.
If correct
10. Click Next to save the entry
The Notice of Electronic Filing will display. It s the verification that the filing has been sent electronically to the court.
Copies of this notice and the document filed are emailed to all participants who receive electronic notification in the case. You have a period of 15 days for a one time free look at the document filed.
